FLORIDA RANKS NO 1 IN U. S. SCHOOL STUDY.
The American Legislative Exchange Council recently published the Report Card on American Education by Dr. Matthew Ladner, Andrew LeFevre, and Dan Lips, which ranks and grades states K-12 education. In the last decade, Florida has gone from being in the bottom of the nation to a national model in education.
Florida earned the highest combined grade on a new national education report card. The America legislative Exchange Council ranked Florida first among 50 states for education reform, citing rising proficiency standards, friendly charter school laws and wide online learning opportunites. The state ranked third in the country for academic perfomance of low -income and minority students, based on gains recorded by the National Assesment of Education Progress.
No other state scored in the top 10 on both indicators, giving Florida the best combined showing.
